Volunteer Job Opportunities

Here at Habitat, the work we do isn’t limited to the construction site.  While our build volunteers make up a large and critical part of the team, there are many other ways to serve based on your interests and skills.

CONSTRUCTION VOLUNTEER CO-ORDINATOR

As our volunteer program develops, you’ll help keep the volunteer list up-dated and coordinate volunteers to help in various positions:

  • Coordinate weekly with the construction supervisor to find out what type of work is planned for the next workday (which are Wednesdays and Saturdays) and how many volunteers will be needed, then notify the “caller” to line up construction volunteers
  • Report number of lunches needed to lunch coordinator
  • Help keep track of liability waivers and work logs, along with updating volunteer lists
  • (Optional: attend monthly Building Committee meeting)

ON-SITE HOST

Help on the work site on Wednesdays and/or Saturdays from about 7:45am – 12:30pm:

  • Set up water jugs, coffee pots & goodies for morning break
  • Keep track of supplies (sodas, paper products, cups, etc) & restock as needed
  • Get volunteer waivers signed; fill out site log
  • Set up wash station and lunch supplies
  • Help clean up after lunch

OFFICE VOLUNTEER

Help in the Habitat office on weekdays:

  • Answer the phone
  • Check e-mail
  • Help with copying, filing, mailings and general office tasks

RESTORE AMBASSADOR

Have fun, give back to the community, and meet lots of interesting folks.  ReStore volunteers are a very friendly bunch, must be “people people” and have a desire to solve problems.  Report to the General Manager and usually works in 4-hour shifts.

  • Customer Service
  • Organizing, cleaning
  • Stocking
  • Special projects as skills allow
